Melissa Brueske
Principal

It is my honor to serve as the Principal at Jefferson Elementary School. Our mission is to celebrate student's individual talents and invite them to become a part of a community that will embrace them for who they are. We seek to build solid relationships between students, staff and community. We believe that this partnership fosters the cooperation needed to grow students to their full potential. 

Prior to coming to Jefferson Elementary School, I joined the Mankato School District in 2018, and spent a year as a Kindergarten Teacher at Washington Elementary School and two years as the Dean of Students at Prairie Winds Middle School. I also had sixteen years of classroom experience in the Belle Plaine School District where I taught second grade for fourteen years, one year as a math and reading intervention teacher. 

I have three children in the Mankato School District system; a son and a daughter in high school and a son in elementary school. We as a family feel invested in this community and I look forward to building a relationship with you and your child this school year.
